Touted as one of Canada's finest songwriters, Nova Scotian Joel Plaskett brings his solo, acoustic act to Mariposa for the first time. How good is he? Well, last February alone, he and his band snared an unprecidented six East Coast Music Awards, then received notice that he'd won the prestigious Billboard World Song competition in the pop song category. The same week he was nominated for a Juno award for songwriter of the year. With several CDs (and vinyl) to his name, Joel has been recording for over a decade and touring extensively. We are thrilled to have him as our Friday night headliner.
