Brief Biography

Paul is a songwriter and promoter of original music, who has conducted songwriting workshops at folk festivals and other venues for the past several years.

paul court is a songwriter, performer and organizer of original roots music in Orillia, Ontario. He is a founding member (1994) and past treasurer of the Orillia Folk Society. He is the co-founder (2002) and administrator of the Barrie and District Association of Singer/Songwriters. On behalf of these two groups he runs the D.I.Y Music Getaway (since 2006) every winter at Wildfire Outdoor Education Centre in Wyevale.

paul has been on the ArtsU faculty since its inception. He also teaches songwriting workshops and courses at festivals and through Orillia Parks and Recreation, and Stellula Music in the schools.

paul is perhaps best known for Blood and Fire: The Donnelly Project, a live show and cd of his songs and Susan Charters' stories about the infamous family in mid-1800s Lucan, Ontario. He has since initiated and performed another project piece, Tiny Rehearsals with three local songwriters, Susan Braedley, Roy Hickling and Carol Teal. Most recently he has created a pop/folk band, The Dotted Lines, with co-writer Aaron Howes and drummer Dave Christie.
