These guitar wizards mesmerize with remarkably imaginative guitar interplay, transporting their audiences from the highlands to the Blues. Each has a busy music career of his own, but their love of music fusion finds them seeking opportunities to work together more often these days. 2011 saw them tour together for the first time, with concerts in Nova Scotia & Maine. Their first duo recording, Live off the Floor, garnered critical acclaim. This year, Scott and Brian are venturing onto the festival circuit for the first time, making their debut at Mariposa. We are very pleased, indeed, to present these remarkable guitar players together on our stage.

Since meeting in 1995, Scott Macmillan and Brian Doyle have been blending their musical intuitions in ever fresh and innovative ways. Their performances are captivating, creating an exciting and always expanding musical experience. Throwing caution to the wind, these two guitar wizards mesmerize with remarkable imaginative guitar interplay transporting their audiences from the Highlands to the Blues and just about everywhere in-between!
Individually Scott and Brian have full and busy music careers. But their love of music fusion has them increasingly carving out opportunities from their hectic schedules to join forces and expand their convergence of musical minds.
2011 was a busy year for Brian and Scott.
They actively toured together for the 1st time in 2011 with concerts in Nova Scotia & Maine.
Their 1st duo recording ‘Live off the Floor’ garnered them multiple nominations with 2 nods from East Coast Music Awards (ECMA) and 3 from the 2011 Molson Canadian Music Nova Scotia Awards.
2012 will see Scott and Brian venturing into the Festival circuit for the first time with performances at the Mariposa Folk Festival in Orillia Ontario July 6-8th.
Previous nods for these two wizards of guitar include winning the 1998 ECMA Instrumentalist of the Year, for Scott Macmillan Presents the Minnie Sessions Vol. 1. The recording features Macmillan and Doyle on 4 cuts; Minnie Adams House Reel, “Caterer’s Request”, “Cameron Side Rd” and “Romper River”, with Scott and Brian co-writing the later 2 songs.
