Smoking/vaping tobacco, cannabis and other substances is prohibited on the entire festival grounds (J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park). Campers are allowed to smoke/vape in the Pete Seeger Memorial Campground (as per Chapter 954 of the City of Orillia Municipal Code). To report smoking/vaping in prohibited outdoor areas please contact the City of Orillia By-law Office at 705-325-2313 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Fines of up to $305 can be issued. For more information visit orillia.ca/smokefree.
In consideration of all of our audience members, chairs, blankets, wagons and other personal effects may not be left overnight. Please remove them when you leave the festival site for the day.
Wagons may not be parked in the Main Stage Audience area as they take up valuable seating space. Please empty your wagon and park it in the wagon parking lot adjacent to the audience seating area.
All items left behind will be removed each night after the main stage closes, and placed in an unsecured compound located behind the Accreditation Tent where they may be retrieved during festival hours.
You may also drop your personal effects off at the compound to avoid lugging them to your car at the end of the evening (except Sunday evening). All items left overnight are left at your own risk.
Thank you for your cooperation. Your fellow audience members thank you, too.
With Mariposa’s Child Registry program, you may register your child at the Information Booth located in the middle of the festival grounds.
Your child will receive a numbered wristband at the gates, and you will be issued a verification card with the same number. Should you become separated, volunteers will assist you in locating your child.
In the event that you find a lost child, banded or not, please proceed to the Information Booth. In the event that the Information Booth is closed, please go to Site Communications behind the main stage.
Parents and guardians are responsible for the children under their care at all times.
Only working animals are allowed on the festival site. Pets left unattended in vehicles anywhere on the festival site will be reported to the Police and the SPCA.
Photographs or videos taken at Mariposa Folk Festival may not be used for any commercial purposes. Mariposa Folk Festival reserves the right to take photographs/video recordings of guests while on Mariposa Folk Festival premises to be used for commercial or promotional purposes.
Alcohol will be available for purchase and consumption within controlled licensed areas during festival operating hours. It is prohibited to bring alcohol onto the festival grounds, and to carry or consume it outside of the licensed areas, during and outside of festival operating hours (zero tolerance).
